| John and Rob Mt. biking
8/13/99. Roslyn Slick rock adventure. 17.8 mi. With our miss
haps more like 20 mi. Heh heh
Getting a late start on the day we left Seattle at about noon or
so. We made it to the Cle Elum Ranger station at 2pm. Got a
map and some supplies from town. The trailhead was easy to find,
just a logging road for the first 3.2 mi. After we made it to the top of
the assent, I needed to take break for a power bar and some Goo.
Then the trail took us on some nice single track decent to the
Slick rock (smoothed out sandstone) very nice indeed. We messed
around on the rock for a while and started down the trail again, OUCH!
Single track decent is very intense on the arms and wrists, I wish
I had bought that shock for my bike. :( The ride was a great
success, of course the guide book we were following lead us a stray a
few times, but all in all I would say it was very enjoyable for my real
first backcountry Mt. biking experience.
I took these photos with my digital camera and I will be adding more
of myself soon when John gets his film developed.
